Hello everybody. Did Thursday's market action scare you? I get it. The selling pushed the indices to the brink. Like we told you yesterday though, this party isn't over yet. Stocks need to have a truly harrowing moment to prove whether or not the bulls are going to stand their ground. Even after today's setback we still haven't reached that inflection point. We are close, however.
We'll weigh it all below -- as we always do -- but there's something more pressing we need to get to first. One of our Focus Stocks made a real recruiting coup, and it may light a fire under the stock; the company is already doing everything it's supposed to do.
Good Wednesday afternoon, friends and fellow traders. How is everything?
Well, I think after today it's pretty clear that the pressure is on the bulls to do their job; the bears could simply coast from here and get some things done.
That's not inherently a bearish call, mind you. I'm just saying, right now from a technical perspective, there's more resistance than support.
Good morning, everybody. Yes, it's a morning edition of the SmallCap Network newsletter, and an unscheduled one at that. Something came up after the close yesterday. We debated waiting to talk about it until after the close today (which is when we usually send the newsletter), but we all agreed... it may be too late then. This is the kind of news where once you read between the lines, you can just tell something big is happening. With only a few hours between now and Friday's close - and with the weekend approaching - it's best to get this to you ASAP before the rest of the market starts to put two and two together.
Remember SecureCom Mobile (SCQBF)? We introduced this company to you back in July, as it was on the verge of unveiling its app for Android devices in India - a fast-growing mobile market. We've kept the company on the radar since then, though it's laid fairly low publicity-wise. In light of last night's announcement it had named a new President/CEO though, we have to wonder if SecureCom Mobile is about to turn up the proverbial heat. If so, that could light a fire under the stock.
Just as a quick refresher, SecureCom has developed a way to encrypt a digital message like a text, phone call, or even an attached document sent from a smartphone or a tablet. The digital message is only unencrypted once its arrival is confirmed at the intended device. The encryption is of the highest level possible, but just to make doubly sure it's safe and can can never be unencrypted even if nefariously recorded, the digital encryption keys are destroyed once the communication session ends.
Congratulations to those of you who are also Elite Opportunity subscribers. Your Alphabet (GOOGL) trade was up a little more than 2% today following a surprisingly strong earnings report from the web search giant. And, thanks to today's gain, the overall trade is now up 30% since John Monroe recommended it back in late August. That's a sweet five-month gain for any kind of environment, but it's an especially impressive gain considering the market's lousy environment we've witnessed during that time.
I've said it before but I'll say it again... the Elite Opportunity service is a great weapon to add to your arsenal in any type of environment, but John and his staff somehow manage to really shine when stocks are struggling... when traders need the most help. Whatever he's doing, he clearly works.
It's obviously too late to go back and pick up the Alphabet trade, but it's not too late to be on the beneficial end of John's next recommendation. Here's all you need to do, or simply cut and paste this link: https://www.smallcapnetwork.com/pages/SCNEO/v1/
Good afternoon everybody, and welcome back from the weekend.
You know, while Monday's action wasn't jaw-droppingly bullish on a close-to-close basis, in the grand scheme of things we have to give credit to the bulls -- the bears had a chance to up-end the budding rally today, but the bulls didn't let them. After a weak start and a dip deep into the red, the indices fought back to a near-breakeven, or even managed to log a gain in some cases. While we're still miles away from a confirmed uptrend backed by measurable momentum, the bullish effort gained some legitimacy today.
And yet, the rally effort is still fundamentally flawed as a beginning of a longer-term bullish effort.
