Good morning folks. We're sending this edition of the SCN newsletter out in the morning rather than after the close for the usual reason we do so.... after the close may be too late. The double-dose of news is just that urgent; as not one but two of our Featured Stocks shared some amazing stuff this morning.

In Monday's edition of the newsletter we pointed out Double Crown Resources (DDCC) was enjoying more than its fair share of buying, as traders were highly inspired by the potential of its Translock2 commodity container/dispensing system. We weren't kidding last Tuesday when we said it could revolutionize the way a huge swath of the shipping industry works.

In light of today's news, we may have underestimated just how big of a deal Translock2 could be.

Good Monday afternoon everyone, and welcome back from the weekend.

Well, as has been the case about umpteen times since I don't know when, the market managed to reverse course again before a trend had a chance to get going in earnest. Today it was a bullish reversal of a budding bearish move, but considering stocks are still right where they were in late-2014, clearly we've seen just as many bearish reversals as we've seen bullish ones.

Whatever the case, while today's action pulled the S&P 500 back above one key level, it didn't clear THE big hurdle we'd need it to clear to get stocks over the hump as a whole.

Welcome to the weekend, folks, though I sure wish we could have started the weekend on a slightly more compelling foot. Not that stocks can't rebound from where they left off on Friday, but they're sure pointed in the wrong direction.

Like we said in Thursday's edition though, there's actually a bit of an upside to any pullback from here. That is, (1) we would burn off our frothy values, and (2) we would set up a great fourth quarter rally... if any weakness persists all the way through summer. Somehow I don't think this volatile market would let stocks fall that far for that long though.

In any case, we've got plenty to talk about market-wise, but I'd like to kick things off today with a look at last month's retail sales data. It was better than expected, calling into question the concerns raised by earnings reports from retailers like Macy's (M), JC Penney (JCP), and Kohl's (KSS) this week.

Howdy folks. How's everybody doing?

Well, true to its recent form, the market continues to do its best to vex as many people as possible as much as possible. It (and the S&P 500 in particular) literally couldn't be any more on the fence than it was most of the day today. As tough as it is to chill out and let stocks do their thing while they figure out what they want to do in the grand scheme of things, the right thing to do right now is nothing... except wait for one side or the other to tip its hand.

Happy hump-day, folks. Did everybody make some money today? It would have been tough to, considering the market's bearish action. Stocks reversed course from yesterday's impressive-but-completely-unsupported bullishness to fall back under some key lines in the sand on Wednesday.

Thing is, there were a handful of people that did manage to make some rather good money despite Wednesday's marketwide weakness. Elite Opportunity members were on the beneficial end of several short trade (bearish) recommendations John Monroe has made over the course of the past few days. Among them were bearish calls on Disney (DIS), Macy's (M), and Nordstrom's (JWN), which were down 4.5%,14%, and 7% - respectively - for today's trading. Could your portfolio have used a few winning trades like that today?
