And away we go. News highs abound for both the NASDAQ and the S&P 500. All of it points to a strong melt-up developing, assuming of course the last few days of market strength continues. Good for the buy and hold investor, but probably pretty frustrating for anyone else who continues to think stocks can't go higher.

If you've been around stocks for the last 20 years or so, you probably already know stocks can defy gravity until they finally decide to fall apart. But, everyone I talk to seems to think we're nowhere near that type of market top yet. As a matter of fact, until we get some fundamental shoe to drop or some significant black swan type event, it's probably safe to assume stocks will just keep going higher and higher.

Stocks in general couldn't gather themselves enough yesterday to post more gains to the upside and we're seeing even more weakness in early trading today. But, now that we're in the middle of the current quarterly reporting period, it's going to be earnings that will drive the major indices going forward now.

In other words, if S&P 500 earnings estimates come in as expected, there's plenty of fundamental reasoning right now to suggest more upside ahead. Even our own pros at Elite Opportunity Pro are seeing the potential for more upside on a technical basis. It's there analysis of the weekly charts on all of the major indexes that are pointing to a potential breakout soon.

Another good day in stocks keeps the bears at bay for the time being. Even with some excellent earnings coming from a few of the big bank stocks today though, financials are getting beat up to close out the week. However, the S&P 500 seems to be gunning for its all-time high again, but whether or not it can get her done we'll see.

There continues to be a rotation of sorts over the last few weeks, where basic materials and commodities seem to be picking things up - along with healthcare and biotech - while tech stocks continue to somewhat lag a bit. It's going to be real interesting to see what happens when those big tech names start to report later this month.

Another great day for stocks yesterday. So much so it looks like we could be on the verge of another big breakout, especially with the fact the major averages have been consolidating for quite some time, in addition to the DOW having made another new high yesterday.

More importantly, our newly featured stock in U.S. Gold Corp. (NASDAQ: USAU) had a decent day yesterday. However, another one of our newly featured stocks in Senseonics Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SENS) broke out sharply to the upside yesterday - posting gains on the day of about 16%.
