How's everybody's week going so far? It's a rush to the end of the year, and speculation is alive and well with small stocks starting to get more and more attention lately. I look around and see small stocks moving we haven't seen move in an awful long time. But, that simply means times are changing and opportunities are surfacing everywhere. Everything from bitcoin and cannabis to blockchain and biotech, stocks are on the move. This morning, we got news from a few of our featured stocks in a few of these sectors. First, Gridiron BioNutrients(TM) formerly My Cloudz, Inc. (OTCBB: MYYZ), the nutraceutical innovator specializing in Cannabidiol ("CBD") health and wellness products to the individual, announced today that customers will be able to purchase Gridiron's innovative CBD products using PayPal or Bitcoin through its on-line sales website. This includes, Gridiron CBD H2O Probiotics(TM), which is endorsed under Pro Football Legends, the commercial marketing arm of the NFL Alumni.  Gridiron CBD H20 Probiotics(TM) is formulated with a pH of 10 and packed with 2,000,000 certified nanograms of CBD, probiotics and electrolytes.   This is innovative nutrition intersecting with innovative technology," commented Tim Orr, President of Gridiron BioNutrients(TM). "Gridiron continually seeks to incorporate customer-focused business practices across our full line of CBD health and wellness products. Blockchain technology is rapidly evolving and growing in popularity as a payment option for consumers; we at Gridiron look forward to providing our customers with this option via on-line sales. In addition to traditional payment options and Bitcoin transactions, the company will also utilize PayPal which provides customers access to one of the world's largest secure on-line payment service companies with no fees." Investors seem to be liking the news. While bitcoin continues to garner worldwide attention for its speculative currency valuation, and more importantly successful advent of blockchain technology, its Gridiron's innovative CBD products that appear to be garnering the interest of small stocks investors right now. For those curious about the potential benefits of CBD and how it's continuing to attract so much attention in the health and wellness community, I came across this article published by Dr. Axe: https://draxe.com/cbd-benefits/. Dr. Josh Axe, DNM, DC, CNS, is a certified doctor of natural medicine, doctor of chiropractic and clinical nutritionist with a passion to help people get healthy by using food as medicine. In 2008, he started a functional medicine center in Nashville, which grew to become one of the most renowned clinics in the world. His article breaks down the potential benefits of CBD in a short list of eight basic benefits; 1. Relieves Pain and Inflammation 2. Has Antipsychotic Effects 3. Reduces Anxiety 4. Helps to Fight Cancer 5. Relieves Nausea 6. May Treat Seizures and Other Neurological Disorders 7. Lowers Incidence of Diabetes 8. Promotes Cardiovascular Health Although there's a number of early players in the CBD beverage space, if you think back about any new developing industry over the last several decades, you're probably going to figure out it's those early entrants into the space that end up getting enough market share to become industry leaders. If MYYZ Management can continue to gain traction, who knows what type of growth this early stage idea is capable of providing in the way of returns. In other news, Posera Ltd. (OTCBB: PRRSF) (PAY.TO), a leading provider of software solutions for the hospitality industry, announced today the completion of certification with First Data, a global leader in commerce-enabling technology, for Posera's pay-at-the-table solution, SecureTablePay(R). SecureTablePay is a middleware software solution that allows customers to pay-at-the-table in an easy, efficient, secure, and EMV compliant manner. With SecureTablePay, the server only needs to go to the POS workstation once - to place the order. Pulling up the check, accepting and authorizing payment, and closing the table with full reconciliation to the POS is done directly at the table. This allows the server to spend more time on the floor with customers. It also means the credit or debit card never leaves the customer's hands, increasing security and reducing opportunity for fraud. These capabilities create the perfect balance of greater security and increased efficiency. "We are very excited about our certification with First Data. As it is the largest payment processor worldwide, and given their great distribution network and so many different channels, First Data has the ability to make SecureTablePay easily accessible to merchants big and small across the U.S.," said Akash Sahai , EVP, Strategy and Business Development for Posera. The first SecureTablePay deployment on the First Data network was installed on October 23rd, 2017 in a North Carolina restaurant through their local dealer, Cabaret Systems, Inc.  "Cabaret Systems Inc, has been waiting on an easy and efficient pay-at-the-table solution for the U.S. market. We are very happy with how the SecureTablePay application has worked, and we plan on implementing it with many of our restaurant customers in the coming months," said Jeff Henry , President, Cabaret Systems, Inc. With certification now complete, merchants on the First Data network who are looking to acquire pay-at-the-table functionality, or who need to adopt EMV, can do so with SecureTablePay, as SecureTablePay integrates with all leading POS systems. This is precisely the type of news we want to see from small stocks like Posera. Not only is the company committed to growth, it's delivering with fundamental advancements like the one today. Often times, when looking at a company's PR, you've got to read into it in a way that you have to decide if that particular PR has tremendous revenue implications or not. When you consider the size of the sit down and fast casual dining space between the U.S. and Canada, one would have to think today's news from Posera is something serious worth considering. When you look at what other merchant services stocks on the NASDAQ and the NYSE have done over the last few years, it's clearly a hot sector - one worth taking a deeper dive into if you're looking for attractive ideas with good growth potential.
