Market Outlook
As it stands
right now, the market's poised to close about 2.2% higher for the week.
Note, however, that the bulk of the weekly gain was made on Tuesday; we've
seen no progress since then. So what? It points to a lack of follow-through,
which ultimately suggests the bulls aren't as locked and loaded as they
think they are. While volume's been decent on the way up, it hasn't exactly
been strong.
Of course, the selling volume
hasn't been all that strong either.
And the VIX? Yeah, well, it
looked like it might have finally made its way into a new uptrend last
week (chart below), but no dice. It's back at stunningly-low levels, which
should scare the daylight out of the folks who were following the VIX in
the late 90's and early 2000's (and to a lesser degree in the mid-2000's).
This much persistent confidence rarely turns out to be a good thing.

Technical
Analysis, Does it Work on Microcap Stocks?
Technical analysis
is an invaluable tool to most traders. Patterns are repeated over and over
again in nature, and the same is true with human emotion. Those emotions
are all clearly depicted in the form of a chart, thus causing chart patterns
to appear over and over with regularity. For smaller stocks, does the same
hold true? Many would argue that all technical analysis breaks down under
a certain price threshold. Don
Seal takes a look at a couple of small stocks and interprets some technical
analysis on them.

Undervalued:
Shares of Momenta Pharmaceuticals
Is Momenta
Pharmaceuticals undervalued and warrant your attention?
"Currently,
Momenta Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: MNTA) represents an undervalued opportunity
with high reward potential and some downside risk. We like the potential
going forward in 2011 with updates on their pipeline and Copaxone litigation.
Recently, the stock dropped following news from TEVA, that it had received
a 'minor deficiency' letter from the FDA regarding questions about TEVA’s
ANDA application to sell their generic version of Lovenox."

Official, Comcast Corporation Takes Over NBC
Last Friday
the world of media got smaller. After a long courtship, the biggest cable
provider in the U.S., Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA)
took majority control of NBC Universal (now NBCUniversal; one word) from
General
Electric (NYSE: GE).
The
deal has been in the works for a long time and the Dept. of Justice and
the FCC were as much a part of the transaction as the corporate accountants
and boards of directors.
