Happy Hump Day everybody. It's Fed Day and the markets don't really seem to care yet. The DOW continues to be the big winner with the S&P 500 trying to keep up. It still just seems equities are the place to be until proven otherwise. It's probably one of the most hated rallies in history for many retail investors, but that just doesn't matter on Wall Street. Until the big money has decided enough is enough, the major averages are probably just going to continue to go higher and higher. We've got some news and some updates on some of our featured stocks today. First and foremost is that move on Cenovus Energy Inc. (CVE) lately. Some of you might remember our newsletter edition back on September 1st when I pointed out CVE was bucking the recent oil weakness, which was definitely a good sign. Today, shares of CVE are trading almost $2 bucks higher than the September 1st price of $7.92 when we talked about how the stock was starting to look attractive again. That's about a 21% gain from then to now, so pretty good if you stuck with it. I should also point out there's a lot of chatter out there right now about a potential rally in oil, so you might want to go back and dig up those older oil names that used to be so attractive. It's been a long time, but if there's one thing you can always count on when it comes to stocks, it's that sectors take turns doing well over time. LottoGopher (LTTGF) looks like it's finally starting to trade better following a pretty substantial amount of volatility over the last few weeks. Maybe the sellers have been shaken out of the stock down around the $.20 cent range, but the reality is this is a developing story - one that's going to take some time. There's no debating the stock continues to garner a lot of attention, especially with the recent announcement that William Shatner has decided to become the company's spokesman. If you missed the news a while back, click on the image below to watch Shatner's endorsement of the LottoGopher opportunity. Honestly, there just seems to be way too many bright minds behind this particular company to keep the stock down around $.20 cents. Nothing is ever a guarantee when it comes to penny stocks, but there's really no denying what LottoGopher is doing within the lottery industry. It's not only disruptive to the entire industry, it does seem very promising for those investors willing to speculate on the stock around its lows right now. We got some news yesterday from Patriot One Technologies (PTOTF). It wasn't anything earth shattering, but the company did announce its management will be presenting, exhibiting, and participating in a panel session at the Extraordinary Future Conference on September 20th in Vancouver. Extraordinary Future 2017, presented by Cambridge House International is a tremendous opportunity to showcase Canadian technologies to the investment community. Patriot One's team will be available for meetings in Booth #3 where CEO Martin Cronin and Director Jeffery Tindale will be in attendance for one-on-meetings. Mr. Cronin will be participating in a panel session on Security & Artificial Intelligence at 10:30am, and will also deliver an investor presentation in the Speakers Hall at 11:40 am. For more information visit: www.extraordinaryfuture.com. Event: Extraordinary Future 2017 Date: Wednesday, September 20, 2017 Booth: #3 Panel Session: Security & Artificial Intelligence,10:30-11:00am, Speaker Hall Presentation: 11:40 - 11:50am PT, Speaker Hall Venue: Vancouver Convention Centre East, 999 Canada Place, Vancouver, BC Event Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm Patriot One's representatives will be providing an update on recent activities and progress report on the deployment of its award-winning PATSCAN CMR concealed weapons detection radar-based technology. Although the stock has had some recent false starts, it does look like PTOTF has been building a base. Once again, you can play penny stocks for a trade, or you can find the good ones where the companies are doing something ground breaking and exciting, buy them when they're down and see what happens from there. We're still convinced Patriot One's weapons protection technology has merit, so it's one company we do continue to think is worth speculating on for the future. Just like with all penny stocks though, it's always important to remember the inherent risk that's associated with them. Last but definitely not least, shares of SPYR, Inc. (SPYR) have woken up in a big way over the last few weeks. Remember when it was down in the low teens? I must sound like a broken record, but how many times have I said the best time to buy the right penny stocks is when nobody wants them? Another case in point right there with SPYR. Now let's hope this thing can keep running higher!
