For those of you who really dive into our Featured Stocks and dig into the names we like (which has to be everyone, right?), then you're already aware of how Sky Power Solutions Corp. (OTC:SPOW) hit a headwind on Monday. Your first thought - as was my first thought - was probably something along the lines of "here's another case of the market being flooded with supply". As it turns out, that's not the case at all. After a couple of day's worth of digging, this story has taken a quirky turn, though at least for the better in the grand scheme of things.

I'm going to slice and dice the reality for you below. First I want to give you the latest update on where the market is, and where I think it's going next... though that won't take long.

A thought occurred to me this weekend as I was trying to keep tabs on the European financial summit in between football games - the pressure is really on these guys to come up with a plan that's not only fantastic, but also believable. In fact, it's probably more important the plan appears to be believably fantastic than it actually be a rock-solid plan. See, the crisis here isn't one of numbers. Never has been. This is a crisis of confidence. Even a mediocre plan we all can get excited about is better than a great plan nobody has faith in.

Alright, time to get our hands dirty again and take a close, brutally-honest look at where this market is going. Though I've got a couple of trading ideas for you bouncing around in the back of my head right now, the priority here is understanding the market's bigger tide (since it can shipwreck even the best of individual stock picks).

We'll look at the market first, and after that I want to update a couple of the stock ideas we've sent out recently. One I'm pulling the plug on, and the other I'm reiterating. And, there's an "atta boy" to go along with those looks. First things first though.

If I thought any of you had your mind on new small cap stock picks - or even a review of old ones - I'd probably continue talking about 'em. We're now getting into the thick of earnings season though, and that's where everybody's focus is.

Since I'd rather give you something you're interested in than something you're not interested in, today we'll take a brutally honest look at earnings so far, and the financial sector's earnings in particular (where things are getting really messy).

Well, the saga continues. Yesterday we told you the market was approaching a level where it was either going to have to break through to new highs, or roll over again. We pretty much got there today, so it's do or die time for the bulls.

The good news/bad news is, we're at a similar inflection point with another important indicator. It will confirm or question whatever happens next with the market (though it usually confirms it).
